Dental bonding doesn’t have any major risks.
Keep in mind that the composite resin used with this procedure isn’t as strong as your natural teeth. It’s possible for the material to chip or separate from your real tooth.
A bonded tooth might chip if you eat ice, chew on pens or pencils, bite your fingernails, or bite down on hard food or candy.
The resin also isn’t as stain-resistant as other dental materials. You may develop some discoloration if you smoke or drink a lot of coffee.
Composite bonding is a single session treatment option which is great to correct smaller imperfections, chips, cracks and minor spacing between the teeth.
Veneers on the other hand are ultra thin sheets of ceramic material which are shaped to fit onto the teeth. They usually require some removal of natural tooth structure to create enough space for the veneer to attach to the tooth. They are normally recommended for larger imperfections of the teeth and are more costly than composite bonding.
If you plan on having your teeth whitened and receiving teeth bonding to sort out a problem that’s bothering you, then teeth whitening should come first.
When cosmetic bonding is done, the colour of the resin (the composite) is selected to match the shade of your teeth. The composite itself would not be affected by the whitening, which is why it should be done after you’ve achieved the shade of white you’re satisfied with.
The lifespan of bonding materials for the teeth depends on how much bonding was done and your oral habits. Typically, however, bonding material lasts from three years up to about 10 years before needing to be touched up or replaced.
This is hands down the best dental experience of my life, the technology is first rate but what made it the best was the staff they are excellent - communication and making me feel relaxed and cared for thank-you.
My daughter had a tooth removed both the dentist and his nurse were amazing with her made her feel comfortable and told her everything they were doing highly recommend them x
I had my two teeths fixed two days ago. Nothing hurt and I am very satisfied with dentist Jessica Callow. Very kind, always smiling and does a great job. Thanks Jess.
Always been afraid of going to the dentist, since being a patient of Santosh and his team all my fears have gone. Santosh is so gentle ,explains everything and constantly reassures you.The hygienist is also excellent, wouldn't say I look forward to visiting but certainly much more relaxed. Highly recommend 👌
A painless extraction. I had suddenly lost a large filling in a tooth that had been troublesome for sometime. I phoned at 9:30 and spoke to a very efficient receptionist who offered me a 12:30 appointment as a new NHS patient. On arrival at the practice I was met by a very friendly dental nurse and ushered through to the treatment room where the dentist began the examination, taking great care to reassuringly explain how he intended to proceed. All options were explained to me and it was obvious the tooth needed to come out. From the application of anaesthetic to the final extraction, I can honestly say the most I felt was a slight discomfort. Afterwards the aftercare was carefully explained in detail and I was provided with written instructions. I am genuinely impressed by the friendly and professional service provided at short notice and have no hesitation in recommending the practice.
After a long absence from the dentist’s office, I finally faced the music and made an appointment with Stright Road Dental practice. They could not have been more accommodating, friendly, and professional. Zero shame from them while being uplifting and kind. Thank you for easing my anxiousness and fear. Definitely recommend
