Absolutely, this is the aim of the treatment. At the All On 4 Clinic we want to ensure that you can smile and function with confidence. To us this means you being able to bite, taste and chew all types of food, including apples, carrots, nuts, steak, crusty breads, just as you would do with natural teeth.
Part of our approach is to ensure that the treatment is as pain-free as possible, and that you are relaxed. In most situations the treatment is performed under General Anaesthetic where you are completely asleep, or IV Sedation where you are in a twilight state. If you have special needs or requests, be sure to raise them at your consultation and we will plan your treatment accordingly.
Once bone integration has taken place, dental implants are a permanent solution and should remain in place for the rest of your life. The bridge (the teeth) however, do have a longevity. We offer a variety of bridges from ‘long term temporary’ bridges (up to 5 years) to more permanent bridges (15+ years).
It is not always necessary to replace both top and bottom arches using All-On-4 technology. If one arch of natural teeth can be saved, we will always strive for this option
IF all teeth do require replacement, we do advise you do both at the same time – to help achieve optimal functionality and cosmetics by designing both halves’ of the bite as a whole. This also means the patient completes everything during one surgery visit.
Alternatively, some clients choose to combine All-on-4 with a traditional denture on the opposing arch. This is a great option for those who do not have adequate bone for implants on both arches, or for those who would like to reduce costs of a full reconstruction.

Whilst our experienced dental surgeons ensure a pain-free operation, as with any surgery you can expect some discomfort in the days following.
With All-On-Four implants, pain afterward is generally minimal, with little to no bleeding. In our experience, around 50% of patients do experience some swelling and just around 10 % will experience bruising.
To minimize discomfort, we will send you home with specialised analgesics (painkillers) to minimize discomfort over the next few days.

A painless extraction. I had suddenly lost a large filling in a tooth that had been troublesome for sometime. I phoned at 9:30 and spoke to a very efficient receptionist who offered me a 12:30 appointment as a new NHS patient. On arrival at the practice I was met by a very friendly dental nurse and ushered through to the treatment room where the dentist began the examination, taking great care to reassuringly explain how he intended to proceed. All options were explained to me and it was obvious the tooth needed to come out. From the application of anaesthetic to the final extraction, I can honestly say the most I felt was a slight discomfort. Afterwards the aftercare was carefully explained in detail and I was provided with written instructions. I am genuinely impressed by the friendly and professional service provided at short notice and have no hesitation in recommending the practice.
After a long absence from the dentist’s office, I finally faced the music and made an appointment with Stright Road Dental practice.
